Features

StoreTender offers a number of features in different categories to help you effectively run your store and make smart business decisions. We’ve broken the features into 3 main categories: transactions and payments, employee management, and inventory management/signage. StoreTender boasts cloud backup for added protection against lost data. A self-hosted option for those who prefer to connect to a local database is also available.

Transactions and Payments

With StoreTender, you can choose to accept credit and debit cards, EBT, WIC, checks, gift cards, and manufacturer’s coupons. You’ll be able to scan items with compatible scanners, search through a produce chart for adding produce, and apply discounts at the time of sale. Liquor stores can also prompt cashiers to check ID on age-restricted items. If you utilize barcode scanner, some IDs can be scanned with the barcode scanners to check validity. An optional integrated loyalty program lets you reward your regular customers by creating a customer profile quickly at the checkout. A key tag loyalty card helps customers keep their card handy.

The system boasts an offline mode so that even if you lose internet access, the POS system will continue to work.

Detailed reporting options let you see sales by day, month, department, and more.

Employee Management

A built-in time clock and employee scheduler makes labor management a breeze. You can create and print employee schedules, keep track of accrued and used vacation time, and see clock-in and clock-out info for your staff.

Inventory Management and Signage

The robust inventory and pricing features allow you to easily manage your stock. You can set pricing with pre-defined prices, percentages up from cost, based on profit margin, and more. StoreTender also includes a price formula wizard to help.

Detailed reporting helps you track inventory levels, see movements, and easily reorder as needed. You can also create and print shelf labels or call-out signs for sales and clearance in full page down to 1/8th page sizes to help sell items that you want to push.

Hardware Options

StoreTender sells hardware bundles for convenient system set up. You can choose from several bundles, depending on your specific needs. Bundles include touchscreen display, cash drawer, and receipt printer and start around $2,000.

You can choose to add accessories to customize your POS system. The system supports card readers, barcode scanners, produce scales, customer displays, label printers, report printers, and more.

System Requirements

You’re not required to purchase a bundle from StoreTender, but you’ll need to make sure you’re using a compatible system that meets minimum requirements. StoreTender suggest Microsoft Windows 7 or later, at least 2GB of RAM, at least a 64GB hard drive, a high speed internet connection with a minimum 1Mbps download speed

Accessories

A nice thing about StoreTender POS software is that it’s compatible with devices from many different manufacturers. For example, the company supports credit card terminals from Verifone, card readers from IDTech and MagTek, cash drawers from APG, Posiflex, Toshiba, and Logic Controls, label printers from Star, Toshiba, and Zebra, receipt printers from Epson, Star, and POS-X, reporting printers from Brother, Canon, HP, Lexmark, Ricoh, and Xerox, and scanners and scales from Honeywell NCR, and Data Logic. This list doesn’t include all possible manufacturers, so if you have a piece of equipment that you’re interested in using, you can check compatibility as it may be possible to continue using it.

Pricing

Just how much does StoreTender cost? There are three pricing options for StoreTender. You can pay monthly, annually, or buy a lifetime subscription.

StoreTender costs $59/month when billed monthly, $49/month when choosing the annual option, or $1,599 for the lifetime subscription.

Pricing is for one register only; additional register are billed at the same price as the first. Note that support and updates are only included for the first year with the lifetime subscription. You may need to pay an additional fee for updates and support after the first year.

Add-On Modules

Some features are available as add-ons for an extra cost. The enterprise scale management software add-on allows you to manage integrated scanner/scales by updating PLUs and nutrition information. The scale management add-on starts at $2,495 as a one-time fee.

Scan Data Reporting (either Philip Morris Scan Data or RJ Reynolds Scan Data options) allows you to collect scan data according to the program selected and send in weekly reports. Pricing starts at $25 for one store for one month.

The Troyer Cheese Product Data or Walnut Creek Foods Product Data add-ons allow you to connect to the Troyer Cheese or Walnut Creek data feeds to easily update product information. It’s available as an annual subscription for $10 and works in conjunction with the enterprise scale management add-on.

These costs are separate from the costs to accept credit cards, if you choose to do so. The rates and fees for credit card transactions will be set by the credit card processor you work with.

Credit Card Processing with StoreTender

StoreTender states that you can keep your current processor, as the system works with most major processing companies, including WorldPay, First Data, Vantiv, Heartland, Elavon, and TSYS. StoreTender also offers processing and states that it can match or beat your current rates. Note that StoreTender is not a processing company itself – rather, it offers services through BridgePay. The company states that gateway fees start around $25/month plus a 5 cent transaction fee. Additional transaction and setup fees may also apply.
