Smartwerks claims to work on almost any tablet, smartphone, or computer so you can use existing equipment instead of having to start from scratch. Smartwerks also offers a range of packages for service and equipment to meet the needs of your business. Read on for more information about features, pricing, and more
To get started using Smartwerks to take credit and debit cards, at the very least you will need one of the three service packages from Smartwerks, compatible hardware, and a merchant account with Century Business Solutions.
Along with their service packages, Smartwerks also offers hardware packages or a la carte accessories through its POS Portal.
Smartwerks offers many services to manage your business as it grows. You’ll enjoy features like a customer rewards system, employee tracking, work order management, and the ability to access your business information from anywhere with an internet connection.
Customer Rewards
Both the Standard and Plus packages have a wide array of customer rewards options. The Smartwerks system allows you to keep individual profiles on your customers with the ability to send them special discounts for things like birthdays. The system also allows for a customer referral system, incentivizing your core customers to spread the word about your business with discounts for both the referrer and the new customer.
Employee Services
The employee management functions allow for much more than just a time clock; you can track each employee so you can see who stands out among your staff and who needs some additional assistance.
Work Orders
The ability to manage work orders is great for businesses who provide services like repair or specialty ordering. The system allows you to track the status of repairs or orders and pass that information on to the customer.
Smartwerks is not a credit card processor itself and doesn’t publish pricing for processing on their website. Smartwerks requires you to have a merchant account with Century Business Solutions and they will be the ones who set your pricing.
If you want to find out what your costs to use Smartwerks through Century Business Solutions will be, you can use this free quote request tool to get a private, fully disclosed quote. No sales reps, no obligation.
Aside from the costs of credit card processing, Smartwerks has three tiers of service with features stacking as you move up in price. The features included in all tiers include basic inventory import, point of sale on desktop/mobile, inventory tracking, customer database, and time clock functions. The three packages available are the Light, Standard, and Plus, with pricing and additional features as noted below.
Light – $65/month | Standard – $85/month | Plus – $115/month |
$500 setup | $1000 setup | $1500 setup |
1-5 Employees | 6-10 Employees | 11+ Employees |
4 hours online training | Customer referral program | 8 Hours online training |
Additional costs may apply.
Smartwerks offers mobile and desktop hardware packages as well as a la carte accessories through its POS Portal. A mobile bundle (including a tablet, stand, cash drawer, card reader, and barcode scanner) or a desktop bundle (including a cash drawer, card reader, barcode scanner, and receipt printer) are both available for purchase or lease.
All tiers of service provide for inventory tracking, a customer database, and time clock functions. Choosing the Plus tier allows you access to a complete accounting system and full financial reporting features. The cloud-based nature of the Smartwerks POS system allows you to receive reports from anywhere with an internet connection, allowing you to check in on your business or manage multiple locations from your home computer or even your phone.
Smartwerks POS has some good features like an employee timeclock, but it can only be used with processing through Century Business Solutions, which is a little limiting.
