Payment Acceptance with ShopKeep

Take credit and debit cards, cash, gift cards, and PayPal when you use ShopKeep. Support for Apple Pay and EMV cards is also available with a separate optional card reader. You can choose to print or email receipts to your customers, and receipts are customizable with your business logo and information.

In addition to accepting payments, ShopKeep offers several management functions - including reporting and QuickBooks integration - as well as employee and customer management, customization options, and restaurant-specific features. 

Management Functions

Secure, cloud-based business management functions such as reporting and inventory management are available from any computer with an internet connection and web browser for convenience. Robust real-time reporting is available, ensuring you have the up-to-date information needed to make business decisions. Sales reports can be run for individual employees in addition to overall totals. Reports are also available for top selling items. QuickBooks integration is available to help you seamlessly reconcile accounting information if you’re a QuickBooks user.

Inventory management for retail includes the ability to track the same item in variations, such as by size or color, adjust pricing, and monitor costs of existing and new items.

Employee Management

ShopKeep also offers the ability to manage employees by using sales metrics to create intelligent staffing. Owners can assign permissions to individual employees, such as cashier-level functions or manager-level functions, ensuring that each employee has access to the functions they need without compromising security. An employee time clock is also available to track hours worked.

Customer Management

Additionally, ShopKeep offers customer relationship management (CRM) tools to help build loyalty with repeat clients. Available CRM tools include custom email receipts, gift cards, customer-specific reporting, and in-app notes that servers can update to keep track of information like a customer’s favorite cocktail.

Restaurant Features

For restaurants and food service, ShopKeep offers industry-specific features, such as the ability to add special requests and notes to kitchen orders, split checks, and open and manage tabs. For quicker service, servers can take orders tableside on the tablet or portable Clover system and send them to the kitchen.

Inventory management for restaurants and bars includes the ability to track the number of pours left in an open bottle or ingredients in dishes, along with pricing and margin information.

Security

ShopKeep works with MagTek to provide encrypted card swipers to ensure card data is secured. MagTek swipers connected to tablets with ShopKeep comply with PCI DSS requirements.

Connectivity

ShopKeep is cloud-based and uses internet connections for transaction processing. When a connection isn’t available, ShopKeep offers the ability to ring up an offline sale to be fully processed when a connection becomes available.

Size and Display

ShopKeep works with a variety of iPads, including iPad 2, 3, 4 and Air, certain Android devices, and the Clover systems. Size, screen size, display, and memory will vary depending on the model used as the point-of-sale device.

Equipment and Accessories 

If you need equipment, ShopKeep offers a number of hardware kits. Basic and complete hardware kits are available for retail, restaurant and bar, and quick service businesses. Kits are available for iPad Air, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4. In late spring 2018, ShopKeep announced support for Android, but does not currently offer bundles for Android.

Shopkeep also supports a bunch of accessories, meaning you can customize your solution for your specific business needs. Optional accessories include card readers, printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, iPad enclosures, and scales. ShopKeep sells equipment directly through a ShopKeep online store, but may also be able to support other models.
