The company believes that businesses should have a choice of credit card processors when integrating a point of sale system. Currently, RetailEdge integrates seamlessly with Cayan and Mercury Payments, but may be able to support additional processors.
RetailEdge offers several basic and more advanced features to businesses in retail.
RetailEdge allows you to easily accept payments (including credit cards and gift cards) and add customers at the time of the transaction. Detailed customer sales receipts print automatically. To accept credit card payments, RetailEdge requires a merchant account with either Cayan, or Mercury.
In addition to accepting payments, RetailEdge POS offers extensive features for specific situations, such as discounts, gift registries, gift receipts, recurring billing, promotion code tracking, layaway, and split payments.
A customer management feature lets you easily store information on customers, view purchase history, offer a loyalty program, or track customers’ birthdays.
To help with inventory and receiving, RetailEdge can print barcodes for items you receive and keeps detailed histories that include the date the item was received, and the product’s pricing. You can even manage inventory for multiple locations and track inventory transfers. Additionally, you can analyze data and create reports by analyzing departments, vendors, and more.
You can set RetailEdge to automatically create purchase orders based on inventory minimums, maximums, or sales. Reordering is easy through a quick reorder creation feature.
RetailEdge offers a gift card program, allowing you to sell and redeem gift cards directly through your RetailEdge POS solution. There are no monthly fees, and the electronic gift cards are rechargeable to encourage repeat customer business. If you’d prefer to have cards printed elsewhere, RetailEdge works with many gift card printing solutions.
View past and current sales, view customer history, item history, track sales by department, and more with the robust reporting functions available with RetailEdge. You can also reprint receipts for customers. Reports can be exported as PDF, Excel, or text documents. You may also be able to export your data directly into QuickBooks.
RetailEdge is point of sale software, so it does not come with one specific configuration. You’ll be able to use it with either touchscreen or non-touchscreen monitors on Windows-based system. You’ll optionally be able to add equipment to enhance functionality. RetailEdge’s website includes an online store where it sells peripherals, including cash drawers, credit card readers, receipt printers, barcode printers, barcode scanners, produce scales, customer-facing display stands, portable terminals, and more.
When we opened the the shop in 2011 we went looking for a system that would work with our budget as well as offer web integration and integration to Quickbooks accounting. The software was very easy to set up and since then we have expanded and now use the mobile solutions as well. On the rare occasions when we have a problem I know that I can call the support team there and they can solve it. The support team is full of guys who really know RetailEdge and I later found out that they use the program every day as well, plus I could understand them. The web integration works well and has really helped keep our inventory current. Definitely would recommend this to anyone.
