Total Merchant Services ships terminals directly to the merchant and provides assistance with setup. Be aware that in some cases, free credit card machines may cost you somewhere else.

Mobile Processing

For mobile processing, Total Merchant Services offers Payment Jack card swiping devices to allow you to use your smartphone to process transactions. The card swiper and software are free, and provide real-time authorization for both swiped and keyed transactions, email receipts, and transaction history. Total Merchant Services suggests mobile processing with Payment Jack for industries like landscaping, contractors, electricians, taxi services, artists, and more.

Internet Processing

Use your computer and internet connection to process transactions with Total Merchant Services’ secure virtual terminals. Log in via website or allow customers to pay through one of the available shopping carts. When using the virtual terminal function of internet processing, you can accept credit and debit cards as well as gift cards and electronic checks, process credits, void transactions, and use built-in fraud tools to maintain security.

Gift and Loyalty Cards

Total Merchant Services’ terminals can accept gift cards and loyalty cards to encourage repeat customers. Gift cards can be redeemed in any amount. Loyalty cards allow you to offer special promotions such as a percentage off the total or a free gift.

Cash Advances

If you need capital, Total Merchant Services offers cash advances on future sales. You’ll pay back the advance through a small percentage of daily credit card sales. There is no additional payment schedule and no collateral required. Cash advances are easier to obtain than loans, but you should still weigh the pros and cons carefully. Cash advances are often expensive for businesses.

Total Merchant Services is an older independent sales organization (ISO) with a primary processing relationship through First Data. TMS has been around a long time, so we've seen quite a few statements, applications and quotes from business using or being courted by TMS. What we see is all over board. As is true with all processors, pricing and terms are set on a per-case basis. Reviews on a processor won't tell you the specific deal a processor will give your business. It's up to you to know how processing fees really work to ensure you can negotiate competitive pricing. With this is mind, we've see TMS statements that show competitive, transparent pricing, but we've also seen statements that show a much different story.
