Please note that Square One Business is NOT the same company as Square (or Square Up), the popular flat-rate payment processor. You can get information on Square’s pricing, reviews, and more at our Square Review.
Here’s what you need to know if you’re looking for a credit card processing company and are considering Square One Business.
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners’ Club) as well as PIN and signature debit cards, EBT cards, and private label cards.
You can take payments in-person, online, over the phone or by mail, or on the go with your smartphone.
You can take cards in person using any one of several options. You can use traditional countertop credit card machines, full point of sale systems (including modern tablet-based options) or handheld terminals that you can take with you around your store.
For e-commerce (online) processing, Square One Business can get you set up to securely take payments over the internet. Recurring billing options are also available for those situations where you need to bill customers for goods or services on a regular, set schedule.
Taking payments when your customer isn’t physically at your location is possible with Square One Business’s phone and mail order processing options.
Mobile credit card processing is great for businesses that are frequently on the go. If you take payments at different locations regularly, like at your customer’s home or office, a tradeshow, or work site, you can get set up with Square One Business for mobile processing. You can scan or key in cards using a compatible tablet or smartphone. Square One Business supports both Apple and Android devices.
Square One Business also offers gift and loyalty card programs, check processing, and merchant cash advances.
Gift and loyalty cards are two increasingly popular ways to secure new and repeat customers. Square One Business can get you set up to sell gift cards to redeem at your location or to put a loyalty program in place to reward regular customers.
Even though many customers have switched to using credit or debit for purchases, some still prefer to use checks. If you’d like to accept checks, Square One Business offers an electronic check conversion option. You’ll accept a paper check and use a check scanner or imager to convert it into an electronic transaction, meaning increased security and faster funding.
You can get access to working capital with Square One Business’s merchant cash advance program. Unlike a traditional loan, merchant cash advances are offered against your future credit card sales. You’ll repay the money through a percentage of your daily credit card sales. While merchant cash advances are generally easier to obtain the loans, CardFellow does warn that cash advances may be expensive to take.
You can, but Square One Business doesn’t specify if you’ll be purchasing equipment outright, or if you’ll be leasing. CardFellow recommends always purchasing equipment outright, as leasing equipment is a costly mistake.
Like most processors, Square One Business doesn’t publish rates or fees on its website. However, you can get a quote from Square One Business with no obligation and no sales calls by requesting one for free directly through CardFellow. If you don’t have a CardFellow account, you’ll just need to create one to begin requesting quotes. Create your free account.
Remember, Square One Business is not the same as flat-rate company Square, and will have different rates and fees.
Square One Business boasts no cancellation fee. Just be sure to get it in writing for your own safety and peace of mind.
Not surprisingly, when looking for reviews of Square One Business, you’re likely to come across reviews for Square. (Remember, different companies!) It’s difficult to find reviews about Square One Business for processing and appears there aren’t many available online. Additionally, Square One Business doesn’t include testimonials on its website.
Have you used this company?
Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.
