All of the basics - credit and debit card processing, mobile solutions, and e-commerce processing. The company also provides industry-specific solutions tailored to the particular business needs within an industry.
PayProTec provides fast credit and debit card authorizations for major cards, including MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. (American Express may require separate approval.) You can use PayProTec’s card processing services with both card-present (swiped) transactions and card-not-present (keyed) transactions.
PayProTec gives you the ability to swipe credit cards on the go using your mobile device, with PhoneSwipe. Mobile processing is suggested if you frequently need to accept payments outside of a store or restaurant. Mobile processing is ideal for landscapers, moving companies, artists, delivery services, and businesses who attend trade shows or fairs to sell products and services. If that’s you, mobile processing might be the way to go.
For internet processing, PayProTec offers three gateway options: Authorize.Net, PC Charge, and Retail PC @ Advantage. Any of the gateway options can be utilized with your existing computer with internet access and a web browser.
Authorize.Net
One of the most popular gateways, Authorize.Net features a robust merchant interface to allow you to accept and review payments through your website. Authorize.Net can help you accept all major credit cards, electronic checks, and gift cards. Authorize.Net is PCI compliant and offers built-in fraud protection.
PC Charge
The PC Charge gateway supports multiple payment types, including credit, debit, and EBT cards as well as checks with check verification and conversion. A customer database allows recurring billing for charging subscriptions or monthly recurring payments. PC Charge software also supports card readers, PIN pads, and check readers that can optionally be connected by USB port.
Retail PC @ Advantage
Retail PC @ Advantage meets bank card association requirements, helping keep your processing costs as low as possible. Retail PC @ Advantage is recommended for mail order and telephone order businesses, and can provide recurring transaction billing.
PayProTec charges on tiered pricing, a model prohibited for certified quotes in the CardFellow marketplace due to its lack of transparency. Be aware that any published rates and fees from PayProTec may not be all of your costs.
PayProTec publishes the following information for tiered pricing fees and rates:
Monthly account maintenance: $10
Monthly minimum fee: $25
Card-Present/Swiped transactions
Qualified rate: 1.79%
Per-transaction fee: $0.25
Card-Not-Present/Keyed transactions
Qualified rate: 2.49%
Per-transaction fee: $0.22
Additional fees may apply for certain transactions, such as Address Verification. Address Verification services feature an additional per-transaction fee; businesses that could use Address Verification but don’t use it may face a surcharge. Additionally, not all transactions will “qualify” for the rate published. Transactions that PayProTec deems “non-qualified” will incur a higher cost.
Yes - PayProTec’s standard contract term is 3 years. Early termination fees up to $250 may apply if you cancel before the full term is up.
PayProTec has been around long enough to have some reviews available online, however the company does not currently have any reviews on Yelp or Ripoff Report. Additionally, there are no PayProTec reviews on the official company website.
However, PayProTec has been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2008 and currently has an A+ rating, the highest available. The BBB overview shows 10 complaints lodged against PayProTec in the past 3 years. Reviews complain of hidden costs (a near certainty with tiered pricing), annual fees, refusal to provide agreed equipment, and unauthorized debits. Only 2 of the complaints are listed as resolved to the reviewer’s satisfaction.

Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

The amount batched for each day, never matches what is deposited into my bank account. It's always $30-$50 less. I have tried to get an explanation since 2019. The very eager sales rep hasn't been so eager to help me. More like, MIA. Very disappointed in my missing funds and no reasoning.

Is there a -0- Start rating? Should be. I was introduced to this company by an independent agent and I felt I was done a disservice. Terribly run system for merchant processing. Firstly, they took almost 2 months to "approve" me because I was a "consultant". I never had more than a day for approval from any other company. 2nd- their Virtual Terminal may be the worst terminal portal I've ever seen. Difficult to maneuver, data was either unavailable or incomplete most of the time and invoicing was unwieldy. Lastly, the held funds for about 4 months with out warning or a legitimate reason why. No notification or any communication. At this point I would rather not even take CC payments then have to deal with a company like this again. My advice is NOT use an independent agent or broker for merchant services but go through your payroll company like Paychex or even through your bank. You're going to pay through the nose for processing no matter how you slice it, but at least you can get better service or attention.

Horrible service with no clear communication and just gives the run around for over 2 months. They trick you into a contract and then it's over $2,300 to cancel.

They use outdated tech and force compliance fees on you that aren't even applicable to you. Their agents will say anything to get you to sign a contract with the fine print not available for reading while signing, then surprise, you have a 3 year contract or a $900 ETF. Transaction costs are 300% of industry standards.

I have a major dispute with this company - I called and left a message, a representative called me back and told me that it is common business practice for the company to charge fees 4 years after an account has be inactive. This company is the worst possible company to use for credit card processing. You are better off giving merchandise away for free than dealing with this company. For the record, I would not give them 1 star if i could leave a review that way.
