National Bankcard Inc. is a payment processing service to allow businesses to accept credit cards. It is a registered ISO and MSP of Wells Fargo Bank.
National Bankcard offers a variety of services, including card processing in person, card processing via the internet, pay-at-the-pump transaction capabilities, check processing, and gift cards.
Card processing in person
National Bankcard provides the ability to accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. (American Express may require separate approval from National Bankcard.) You can use traditional credit card equipment or full point-of-sale systems to take cards.
Card processing online
When you need to accept payments online, National Bankcard provides access to the Authorize.Net payment gateway. Authorize.net can be integrated into your existing website and current shopping cart, or used as a virtual terminal to allow manual transaction entry.
Pay at the pump
In addition to taking credit and debit cards, National Bankcard gives you the ability to accept common fleet cards (including Voyager, Wright Express, Fleet One, and Fuelman Card) with its pay at the pump solution. National Bankcard can also offer card solutions for non-branded gas stations and customize equipment solutions.
Check processing
National Bankcard works with TeleCheck to provide check acceptance services, giving your customers more ways to pay. TeleCheck offers Electronic Check Acceptance so that you can convert paper checks to electronic checks, reducing trips to the bank and increasing transaction security.
Gift cards
You can take advantage of the popularity of gift cards with National Bankcard’s gift card solution, offered in two packages: Pre-Designed Starter Kits and Custom Starter Kits. Pre-designed starter kits come in one color and either 25 or 100 cards. Cards can be personalized with your business name. Custom starter kits come in one color or four color cards and can be personalized for your business. If ordering the one-color option, the kit includes 100 cards. The four-color option includes 250 cards. Both kits come with a countertop display, card sleeves, decals, and internet reporting options.
Yes. National Bankcard offers a range of processing equipment, including credit card terminals, wireless terminals, and peripherals such as PIN pads, printers, and check readers. National Bankcard’s selection includes popular brands like Verifone, First Data, Hypercom, Ingenico, Magtek, and Nurit. Both new and refurbished options are available for many terminals.
National Bankcard boasts about having a large chargeback and fraud department to provide assistance against security issues. Customer Service representatives can help with questions related to suspicious or complex processing activity, like chargebacks, software issues, and suspicious transactions.
National Bankcard publishes rates starting at 0.25% for swiped debit up to 1.99% for keyed credit. It’s important to note that these rates may indicate a tiered or bundled pricing structure, a type of pricing we prohibit here at CardFellow due to its opacity and possibility of high costs.
National Bankcard does not place certified quotes in the CardFellow marketplace, but you can request a quote from National Bankcard to see how it stacks up to your other quotes. Just log in to your CardFellow account or sign up for free to request a quote.
National Bankcard’s website claims no contract terms and no cancellation fees, allowing you to cancel at any time. For your own safety, be sure to review documents carefully and make sure that no cancellation fee is disclosed in writing.
National Bankcard doesn’t have as many negative reviews as some companies, but the reviews it does have indicate some problems you should be aware of.

Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

Stay away from this company. Continues to bill your account after closing and won't refund the money. Totally unethical, scam company.

Terrible company. They have a hard sales team that doesn't disclose the facts of their fees. They essentially resell other products. Their internal support team is even worse. Find another more reputable supplier.

This company was awful. They put my credit card payments in someone else's bank account & never refunded my money when they had the correct banking information. They promise to make it right & never did. I had to stop taking credit cards which lost me a lot of money. Then when they promise to make it right & send me an extra for my inconvenience. Never received it or the money that is mine. National Bank card Processing is the worst company & I would not recommend them.

I opened account and was approved to process 20,000 on March 11. Started running payments on March 12 and made a error typing the info in and by March 12 they closed my account and are holding 3,200 of my money for 6 months. I have been trying to handle this with them but they just give me the run around. This is the last place you want to use as your credit card processor. Stay far away from this place.

I have had a very poor experience with National Bankcard. Their staff is poorly trained, customer service wait is 30 minutes or more and then you are sent to voice mail. The limit is $20,000 a month which is great for flea market people and beauty salons, but not any serious retailer. They lie about granting a higher processing limit. My 4-year old business processes $600,000/year and they got me all set up and then denied raising it past $20k. Just do yourself a favor and find another company, National Bankcard is not good at all.

National Bankcard has been responsible for many of the worst ethical offenses we’ve seen. We have sales letters on file from National Bankcard representatives that misrepresent to businesses how processing pricing functions. National Bankcard engages in the practice of bundled pricing, prices debit tiers artificially low, and offers “free” terminals that are paid for through expensive processing charges.
