Global Data Payments, LLC (aka GDPay) is a payment processor that places certified quotes in the CardFellow marketplace. When you’re looking for competitive pricing with no cancellation fees, it may be worth your time to check out GDPay through CardFellow. In this GDPay review and profile, we’ll give you the details on GDPay’s rates and fees, services, reviews and reputation, equipment options, and more.
GDPay is a family-owned processor serving businesses across the United States since 1996. GDPay is a registered ISO and MSP of Chase Paymentech, LLC.
GDPay offers credit and debit card processing, check processing, gift card solutions, and cash advances. You’ll have the option to take cards in-person (using traditional countertop machines or POS systems or using a mobile device) or online.
With GDPay, you can accept major cards like Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Own a gas station? You may also be able to take fleet cards such as Voyager, Fleet One, FleetCor, Visa Fleet, and more, meaning you won’t lose business from fleet card customers.
Is accepting checks important to your business? GDPay has three check processing options: ACH & recurring payments, electronic check conversion, and Check 21.
With ACH/recurring, you can use GDPay’s ACH processing tool (designed for small and medium-sized businesses) to initiate an electronic transfer from your customer’s checking account using the "electronic credit" feature.
With electronic check conversion, accepting checks is as secure and convenient as accepting credit card payments. You’ll scan the customer’s paper check and an electronic image of the check will be securely stored. Your customer signs the receipt and receives the paper check back, and funds are credited to your business bank account automatically. With electronic check conversion, there is no need for a trip to the bank.
GDPay also offers the internet-based Check 21 solution to accept paper checks in-store or by mail and turn them into electronic payments. Scan checks to turn them into electronic documents using a check scanner and funds are automatically deposited in your business bank account.
If you’re looking to get into the gift card game and take advantage of the funds generated from gift card sales, GDPay can provide a scalable solution designed for your needs. GDPay offers three gift card programs: Gift Card Now, Gift Card Advantage, and Gift Card Custom. For customers who already have a gift card program in place, GDPay can help transition your program to GDPay.
GDPay’s Gift Card Now program might be right for you if you want a simple, turnkey gift card program. The Gift Card Now solution comes with 50 or 100 gift cards personalized with your business information. Sample templates are available on GDPay’s website.
If your business is growing and you want enhanced branding, GDPay’s Gift Card Advantage program is a turnkey program that includes your business logo on the gift card. The Gift Card Advantage solution comes with 250 or 500 gift cards. Sample templates are available on GDPay’s website.
Or maybe you already have experience with gift cards or prefer a fully customized solution. If so, GDPay’s Gift Card Custom option provides fully customized gift cards. This option is designed for established businesses with multiple branches who will offer cards at all locations.
If you take payments (or want to take payments) online, GDPay offers multiple options. GDPay can support 4 different popular gateways, including the eProcessing Network (ePN), Authorize.Net, PayTrace, and Orbital.
Specific features may vary by gateway, but will allow you to process transactions securely through the web. Most gateways allow you to set up recurring billing, ideal if you sell goods or services on a subscription-model pricing plan. Additionally, gateways are compatible with many popular shopping carts for easy e-commerce customer checkout. Need to get your online sales data into an accounting program? No problem. Many gateways offer exporting data to QuickBooks or in other file formats for easy accounting.
While CardFellow urges you to carefully weigh the pros and cons of merchant cash advances, if you decide you need one, GDPay can help with that. You don’t need good personal credit to apply or be approved, and GDPay states that funding is provided in as little as 72 hours. Funds can be used for almost any business expense, including marketing and advertising, purchasing inventory, expanding, buying equipment, and more.
Yup. Specific terminal models vary, but GDPay offers equipment with all the current technology, like EMV chip card-capable terminals. They’ve also got you covered with the basics like printers PIN pads. GDPay offers equipment from Dejavoo, Verifone, and First Data.
GDPay places certified quotes through CardFellow, meaning that they’ve agreed to CardFellow’s terms and conditions. When quoting through CardFellow, GDPay will use interchange plus pricing, commit to a lifetime rate lock, and more. Within CardFellow, GDPay does not charge a cancellation fee, as it’s prohibited. Contrast that with quotes you get outside of CardFellow. If you don’t go through our marketplace, GDPay’s standard contract is for 3 years and renews automatically. An early termination fee up to $350 may apply. Remember, if you choose GDPay through CardFellow, there is NO early termination fee.
GDPay has been around for awhile, and generally has a positive reputation. The company doesn’t have negative reviews at Yelp or Ripoff Report, and has plenty of positive reviews from CardFellow clients.
GDPay dedicates a section of their website to customer testimonials. Reviewers praise the company’s low fees, seamless transitions from other processors, helpful staff, and big savings over other companies. Testimonials include the reviewer’s full name and the date that the review was made.
As GDPay has been in the CardFellow marketplace for several years, we have a lot of firsthand experience with them, and we’re happy to say we stand behind them. If you use GDPay (even if not through CardFellow) leave a review!
Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.

This comment is 1 month after starting with GDPay. It's all good! Kevin was and continues to be very responsive to inquires and requests. We process through both computer and credit card terminal. Kevin was extremely helpful in getting everything setup. Customer Service from eProcessingNetwork and Chase has been great. How often do you get to say customer service is great? So far, so good!

I very highly recommend these guys. I own a travel business, and after 10 years of being screwed by other providers, I believed there had to be a few brave souls out there making a living helping small business owners cut through the banks' smokescreens to secure reasonably priced merchant processing. I came across CardFellow on a financial blog somewhere, talked to a couple of their partners, and GDpay came out on top. After wrangling with my existing provider (CapitalOne), they eventually - and very reluctantly - offered me a comparable deal (though they wouldn't budge on the 3-year contract term), all the while asking why I would ever want to leave them after "6 years of excellent customer service." In fact, they had been gouging us and quietly increasing our rates from the start. I wouldn't have stayed with them even if they had been a little cheaper. In a final demonstration of excellent customer service, they tried to charge us a $2,500 early termination fee. It took several more phone calls and hours of hassle to get that reduced to a fraction of that. But we're saving more than that every month with GDpay, so I'm not losing sleep over it. I just went over our first full-month's statement with a fine-tooth comb, and it's just as they said: simple, straightforward, easy to understand. What a relief to know exactly what we're paying for the service.

Kevin is great to work with, promptly returning phone calls and helping with questions. We accepted their quote on Monday and on Friday we are up and running. The rates quoted should represent a big savings for our business, and the backing by Chase and Paymentech should be an improvement over our previous processor. One slight difference with a larger bank such as Chase is when calling in you need to learn what department to use, the phone menu is a bit more cumbersome than our previous processor. The advantage is more features (online reporting, etc), thought at this point I've found the automated telephone reports are updated quicker than the online reporting allowing us to check batches the next day to ensure things are working properly. As we have just recently set up with them, the review at this point is simply about timeliness, ease of setup, and customer service. Once we start receiving statements from the processing I will update the review as necessary. As long as the rates, fees, and effective rate on our statements prove themselves to match the quote we were given then the review will stay at 5 stars. Update - 1 week later. We got up and running smoothly with this processor. Everything is working fine, however I dropped a point off of overall performance as the settlement time is listed as 1 day, however we are finding it is actually 2 days (even for batches closed early in the day between 1-2pm). Certainly not a deal breaker, however as we were deciding between processors the 1 day vs 2 day settlement time did play into the decision. Also, the online reporting does not show yesterday's batch for verification. It was explained to me that the batch information does not show up until the transfer to the bank is initiated, which means we see it the 2nd after, basically at the same time the money arrives in our bank account. There is an automated phone process that allows us to check batch information before it becomes available in the online reporting. The online reporting time is probably completely comparable to other processors, and generally once things are set up and running we will only look at this information once per month to reconcile, so I did not drop any points for this. Update - 1.5 months later. We received our first full month's statement with this processor. I can actually read this statement and make sense of it and guess what - the overall effective rate was exactly what we were quoted. Amazing. Exactly as it should be, but amazing nonetheless after dealing with a handful of different processors over the years of being in business. We are saving over $100 per month with GDpay and are very happy with the service. The Chase Paymentech online reporting is also great once you get used to how to use it. I do not need to wait for the paper statement in the mail, I can download it online right after the close of the month. The statement itself is easy to read and very detailed (much more than our past processors). Each batch is clearly listed on the statement with no combining of batches (in the past we've had processors that combined weekend batches making reconciling a bit more challenging and a hassle). Overall A+, very glad we made the change.

I read these reviews about Kevin when I was choosing a processor and I have to admit: I thought "This is too good to be true. This guy has great reviews *and* the best rates...I'll believe it when I have a statement in my hand." Well, I just got my first statement from them and I'm VERY happy. The effective rate of their processing came in 1% lower than our old processor and exactly where the calculations from cardfellow.com said we should be. Plus, we were able to set up a payment gateway for our online shop, something that will save us even MORE money as we won't have to pay Paypal every month. All of this is a HUGE bump for our bottom line. Not only that, but it's true: Kevin is a solid guy who made the switch very easy. Great follow up and VERY available on email and phone: a true professional. He took a ton of time to really listen to me about our business's specific needs, and helped me figure out a solution that's saving us a ton of money. We're very happy with GDpay.

I assumed it would take some time to get a merchant account and payment gateway up and running for my company, but GDpay worked with me to get everything wrapped up in a couple days. Very helpful, and with the best rate too! Highly recommended.

Kevin has been an asset to me in taking care of my application in the most efficient and effective way possible. He has proven himself to be a professional by taking care of the merchant account allowing me to focus on other things. Where Sage Payments approved me in 6 days after being initially declined, Kevin got me approved within 6 hours once he reviewed and signed off on the paperwork I submitted to him. Appreciate your work.

Kevin is a pro -- he's knowledgeable, generous with his time, & extremely helpful with getting started. The GDpay rates were competitive and the service is full featured and works seamlessly with our existing platform. The switch was a cinch. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. We've got our first statement already, it's easy to read, and everything looks to be exactly as we were promised.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

Keep in mind that I do not have extensive experience with GDpay and that this review is only a reflection of my 35min phone interaction with Kevin today to inquire about getting on board with them. I asked about Global Payments Inc. (which they DBA as GDpay)'s security breach several years back and see how my client's information will be protected. I asked about the contracts that GDpay has with other companies and its hard inquiry on credit report during application process. Kevin's answer did not fully address my questions and often sounded rude. He pointed out that all the pricing here on CardFellow does not include virtual terminal fee. He then adjusted the quote leading to the higher rate. Their base % rate might be attractive but I am not sure if I am convinced they are of good customer service. Maybe there's other hidden things they did not let us know. For starters, I was informed by adding a virtual terminal, there's more monthly fee, batch fee, and per transaction fee. Who knows if their rate will be the same years down the road. Kevin ended the phone call passive aggressively by implying to me not to waste his time.

Just reviewed my first month's processing statement and my overall fees were a full percent less than my prior ”discount” processor. All is good, and deposits are prompt. I am happy with our decision to switch
