Due Payments charges a flat 2.7% transaction fee for credit card processing, stating no setup fees. This puts it slightly lower than other flat online payment options like Stripe and PayPal online payments (2.9% + 30 cents.) Due claims that this rate applies to all transactions, including foreign payments and that there are no hidden fees. However, be aware that fees may apply in the event of a chargeback.
Custom rates may be available for businesses that process $250,000 or more per month.
Note that other fees for premium versions of Due’s invoicing software may apply. The company offers a free version and paid versions that include additional features.

So what do those costs get you? Due has several services, including credit and debit card processing, gift card processing, fraud prevention and chargeback protection, automatic deposit options, and reporting. Unfortunately, the company’s website doesn’t provide a lot of details when it comes to card processing, but a representative from Due tells us that the company works with Vantiv, WePay, and others for backend processing.
Due has an introduction video that provides a quick overview of services:
Due states that it offers both online and offline payment services, but doesn’t give details on equipment, gateways, or much else for the specifics. It also doesn’t offer details about gift card processing, so it’s unclear if Due’s systems accept multiple types of gift cards or if you’ll need to purchase cards directly from Due or a partner. Due allows for recurring billing, which can be enabled or disabled through your dashboard.
Due suggests its services are ideal for small businesses and freelancers that experience frustrating problems getting paid, such as slow paying clients, clients that refuse to work with businesses that don’t accept credit cards, and those with small customer bases. Due also states that its services can help you streamline your workflow to cut down on time spent on non-revenue tasks.
Automatic deposit options may be available for qualified businesses that use Due Payments. Automatic deposits generally occur 1-2 business days after batch settlement, though transactions completed by 6PM eastern time may be deposited the next day. If you use PayPal to receive payments instead, you’ll need to transfer money from your PayPal account and may have a longer deposit timeframe before your money is available.
Registered independent sales organizations (ISOs) are companies that sell processing services, are sponsored by a bank, and are registered with the card companies. According to a representative for Due, the company is in the process of registration as an ISO. You can still take payments securely through a company that isn’t a registered ISO, but in some cases there may be more parties you’ll work with.
Since it started as a platform for invoicing, Due offers many options in that area. A time tracking feature lets you easily track billable hours, while the online estimate and invoice can be customized to match your branding. A choice of templates and colors lets you match your business’ look and feel, and drag-and-drop options for logos streamline the design process. You can send invoices in PDF format or by email and add personalized messages.
You can also accept credit cards online by invoicing clients, which Due claims results in faster payments than accepting checks by mail. Due integrates with Stripe and PayPal in addition to offering bitcoin acceptance. You can also set up recurring invoices for subscription charges and send automatic reminders or confirmation emails when payments are made, apply discounts, set tax rates, invoice simultaneously for multiple contracts, take partial payments, and more.
A simple-to-use dashboard shows your invoice history, invoices sent and received, and more.

Evidence includes receipts with signatures, customer acceptance of your refund policy, explanation for why a refund isn’t justified, proof of shipping, proof of service, and other customer communication.
Real-time reporting lets you easily track your business. You can see projects, billable hours, clients, invoices and payments, and more. Data can be presented in graphs or calendars, giving you an at-a-glance look at trends and outstanding projects or invoices.
Due reviews are more scarce than with some other companies, likely partially because of the company’s young age. Due.com is not currently accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and no reviews come up on typical sites like Yelp, Ripoff Report, or Google reviews. However, Consumer Affairs and G2Crowd both include some customer testimonials, all positive.
Due is “Consumer Affairs accredited” and currently has a 5-star rating from five reviews, but the reviews primarily focus on Due’s invoicing services, and not payment processing specifically.
Reviewers praise the ease of use, client time tracking features, and simple bookkeeping.
G2Crowd only has 2 available Due reviews, though those reviews each give the company a 5-star rating. The reviewers state that the invoicing system saved time, solves problems, and is user-friendly.
The Due website includes testimonials, but they’re snippets of articles where Due has been featured, not reviews from current or former clients.
With limited customer reviews, it’s more important than ever to hear from small businesses and freelancers that use Due to take payments from clients. If that’s you, help us (and other business owners!) out. Leave a review!
Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

Due has no customer support by phone, which is already a red flag. I have used it to create and track invoices and the system is very user friendly, especially with recurring payments (except it says the user can set up auto-payments, but my clients have not been able to get this to work yet). We are talking about money here. For the last few months I have not been able to receive any payments and have not been able to contact or receive support from the ticketing system. I have been messaging them in the support page going on 5 days now and still have not received any type of support or response.

After entering in all of our company and financial information we received a very disappointing and unprofessional response from DUE that we didn't qualify and they wouldn't say why. They also hid behind "security" and "proprietary" reasons why they couldn't divulge the reason for our rejection. Which is ridiculous. See below: From: Bryan (Due) Mar 7, 12:16 PM PST "Unfortunately we cannot approve this account to process payments with Due. We take every account on a case by case basis and our review checks are all proprietary. That being said, we cannot disclose any information on our decision for security purposes. Please note that you can still use our other products such as invoicing via PayPal, Cash, or Check and our projects feature. We apologize for the inconvenience and wish you the best of luck in search for an alternative payment processor. Thanks. Due Customer Success a Due, Inc. Company" We are healthy ISP, VoIP Phone Service Provider, and IT consulting firm, in good financial standing. I don't know what reason besides some size threshold that they would make a decision that we aren't "qualified" and not let us know why. If there is a size threshold, they should state that up front. It wasted our time in going through the process of setting up an account and entering the information they required. We thought it looked like the secure, flexible, easy to manage site where we could process our customers recurring payments, but if this is the way they do business, I'm glad we didn't get too far down the road with using them.
