In this review, we’ll look at the company’s payment services, equipment, costs, and more.
The main function of a credit card processor is to, well, enable credit card acceptance. Bankcard Services lets you take major credit and debit cards online and in person. You can also accept EBT cards.
Bankcard offers traditional processing between a business and a client, but can also support "marketplace" style credit card processing, where the business exists to connect a buyer and a seller.
The company offers next day funding for all customers with no additional fee. To receive next day funding, you’ll need to batch out by 7pm EST.
Bankcard Services offers both daily and monthly discounting, but prefers to offer monthly. At CardFellow, we typically suggest monthly discounting, as it’s easier to reconcile. If you’re not sure which is right for your business, check out our article on daily vs. monthly discounting.
If you're a B2B company, it's important to note that there are special criteria that apply in order to receive the lowest possible pricing. You'll need to provide what's called level 2 or level 3 data.
You can take advantage of the Bankcard Connect gateway to pass level 2 and level 3 data, which can help lower your interchange costs.

Although Bankcard Services provides processing to almost all business types, it specializes in gas stations.
Processing needs at gas stations are different than for other businesses, and Bankcard Services can help. The company offers fleet card acceptance through a direct relationship with the cards, resulting in faster deposits for your funds. Bankccard can support specific equipment popular with gas stations, such as Ruby systems. Read more about taking fleet cards.
A big concern for many businesses is how to deal with those inevitable chargebacks. Bankcard Services helps you stay on top of chargebacks by informing you when one occurs. You’ll be notified by email and mail, and can view chargeback information in your merchant portal. Additionally, you can contact the chargeback department for assistance in fighting the chargeback once you provide documentation about the transaction.
You can accommodate clients who still prefer to pay by check by signing up with Bankcard Services for check acceptance with digital conversion. When your client provides a paper check, you can use a check converter to turn the check into a secure digital transaction.
In addition to card processing and check acceptance, Bankcard offers a few additional services that may be helpful to some businesses, including gift card and loyalty programs, cash advances, and ATM placement.
These days, even the smallest businesses can implement successful gift card and loyalty card programs with little upfront cost and effort. Bankcard Services offers both.
Bankcard Services offers a gift card program with customizable cards that integrate with major POS systems. Cards are available in quantities of 100, 250, and 1,000, with a cost of $0.75 - $1.49 per card, depending on the number of cards you order.
Additionally, there's a $100 fee per custom design order. After that, you'll pay a monthly fee of $2.50 and a per-transaction fee of $0.10 for redemption.
For loyalty cards, Bankcard explains that the program is “paper-free” – rather, customers download the loyalty app and scan your “merchant tag” during their visit in order to receive a “punch.”
You’ll receive your merchant tag for customers to scan in your initial set up kit, along with instruction cards that you can hand out to customers who want more information or details on downloading the app. The loyalty program doesn’t require integration with your POS system to work, but there is an app customers can use to track their loyalty rewards if they'd like.
The loyalty program costs $30/month.
Merchant cash advances are an alternative to traditional business loans. Rather than repaying the money with a set repayment amount and interest rate, you’ll repay through a percentage of your daily credit card sales. Essentially, you’re “selling” a portion of your future credit card sales in exchange for that cash upfront.
Cash advances typically feature less stringent credit requirements and no collateral, which make them easier to obtain than small business loans. However, in some cases they can be more expensive. It’s worth weighing the pros and cons before taking a cash advance.
Bankcard Services' cash advance option requires being in business for at least 6 months before applying, with a minimum credit card sales volume of $5,000. You'll also need a minimum personal credit score of at least 450.
Cash advances are available in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $2,500,000.
Businesses that want to take advantage of the possible increased traffic an ATM brings can do so through Bankcard Services. You’ll be set up with a secure ATM right in your store, and fees customers pay to withdraw cash go right to your business.
Bankcard Services is compatible with several major equipment manufacturers, including Verifone, First Data, Dejavoo, and PAX. Exact features will vary depending on the model you choose, but all equipment is PCI compliant for security. Some machines feature the ability to accept contactless payments, like Apple Pay.
For full POS systems, Bankcard Services suggests the Clover Station or Poynt, as both as user-friendly and available for almost all businesses.
If you need to take payments on the go rather than in a store or restaurant, you can take advantage of a mobile solution. Bankcard Services suggests the Clover Go as a user-friendly option that works with both smartphones and tablets.
Businesses taking payments online will need a payment gateway. Bankcard Services suggests its own gateway, called Bankcard Connect, due to its integration with 175+ shopping carts and multiple processors. However, the company does support other gateways, including Apriva Pay, Authorize.Net, Charge Anywhere, eProcessing Network, and RoamData.
For the unique needs of gas stations, Bankcard Services supports popular Ruby systems, including SuperSystem, Ruby2, and RubyCi.
Bankcard Services offers purchase or lease options for equipment if you prefer, but also offers a free equipment program. The company confirmed to CardFellow that it offers several options: Verifone Vx520 with Vx805 PIN pad, PAX S80 with the SP30 PIN pad, or the iCT220 or 250 with the iPP320 PIN pad.
Leases are through either Executech or First Data Global Leasing.
Bankcard Services primarily offers interchange plus pricing, the most transparent pricing model and one we require here at CardFellow. Interchange plus pricing doesn’t use arbitrary “qualified” and “non-qualified” rates, and pricing is set for each individual business.
However, Bankcard also offers the newer zero fee credit card processing, where you can automatically pass the costs of processing to your customers. Zero-fee processing makes use of the ability to charge more for credit card transactions.
When you work with Bankcard Services, you can choose the pricing model that suits your business.
You can request a personalized quote from Bankcard Services and compare it to any other processor you’d like using CardFellow’s free quote request tool. Try it now!
Bankcard Services confirmed to CardFellow that while the company previously charged a $495 early termination fee, it no longer charges for cancellation. We recommend avoiding contracts that include cancellation fees, so we're glad to see Bankcard Services no longer charges one.
Bankcard Services assists with PCI compliance requirements, but if you're not compliant, you may be subject to a non-compliance fee.
The comapny will send you a series of emails with information on how to become compliant to help avoid unnecessary fees.
In credit card processing, outside sales agents are not always subject to company guidelines, which can result in inconsistent experiences and pricing. However, Bankcard Services' sales reps must all abide by the same pricing and company guidelines.
Bankcard Services has been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2011, and currently boasts an A+ rating with no negative reviews or formal complaints. The company has 4 positive reviews on the BBB’s website, with reviewers praising Bankcard for personal service, competitive pricing, and overall positive experiences.
The company has an official Facebook page with reviews enabled, but there are currently no customer reviews on the page. There are no Yelp profile or Ripoff Report complaints for Bankcard Services.
Despite being around for several years, there aren’t a lot of reviews available for Bankcard Services. We’d love to hear from business owners or managers who use Bankcard for their credit card processing. Is that you? Leave a review!
Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

We have had terrible service and were forced to change out our machine and got charged for it. We can't get deposits next day. Sometimes it takes 3 days. This has been going on for 3 months now. We have no satisfaction as to when this will be resolved and were told it's because the banking system in the US is changing.

We're happy to see that Bankcard Services utilizes interchange plus pricing for transparency. The company is also very quick to respond to questions.
